My playful eye has cast its spell over an actual magpie foot and turned it into solid sterling silver which is then coated in a thick layer of 24 Ct gold.
Set inside the magpie's talons is a 10 mm smokey quartz gem.

My magpie swag jewellery celebrates folk lore where magpie fly off grasping stolen jewels. I have also made this special jewellery to commemorate new research onto the magpies mind, which demonstrates that they are the only birds who share with us a capacity for memory, appreciation, imagination & emotion. Indeed, they are unique amongst all birds and are hte only non mammal known to show mirror self recognition. Truly magnificent.
